Why Meditate? 30 Day Meditation Challenge

Meditation. What is it and how can it help you? Meditation is about transforming your mind which will allow you to transform your life. It’s the act of focusing your awareness on a thought, feeling, subject or activity. Many people have found that meditation has a positive impact on their lives. Which brings me to my next point; what are the benefits of meditation?

Benefits of Meditation:

  • Reduce stress
  • Controls anxiety
  • Promotes emotional health
  • Improves sleep
  • Improves mood
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Remembering your breath

For the past few months I’ve practiced meditation on and off. I’ve done enough to reap some of the benefits of it. That being said, I’m ready to take my meditation practice to the next level. I’m ready to commit myself to meditating daily and I want to invite you to join me!

30 Day Mediation Challenge

Over the next 30 days I will be devoting time to meditate every day. If meditation is something you’ve been wanting to try or even if you already practice and just want to elevate; this is the challenge for you. I’ll be doing weekly check-ins here on my blog and offering suggestions on guided meditations I’ve tried. I also recommend downloading the app “Insight Timer”. I use the timer on this app and listen to the ambient sounds as I meditate.

When I first realized I wanted to try meditation, I wasn’t sure where to begin. Luckily for me we’re living in a technology driven world. There are three apps that helped kick-start my meditation journey.

  • Headspace
  • Calm
  • Sanvello (formerly known as Pacifica)

If you’re interested in going on this journey with me, we start on Monday, August 17th.  Leave a comment or email me if you’re joining and let me know why you want to start meditating.

Take care.
