Many of us spend our days going and going. It’s like we’re swimming underwater barely coming up for air. We’re checking tasks off our to-do list and handling our business without stopping to check in with ourselves.
When is the last time you came up for air? When is the last time you simply asked yourself how you’re doing? If it’s been awhile it might be time for a check in. Checking in with yourself is a time for reflection. It’s a time to examine your thoughts and feelings to gain greater insight of where you are in life. To check in is to listen to your needs and wants. Something we often neglect.
Today I encourage you to spend some time checking in with yourself. Sit with your thoughts and spend time journaling about them.
Here are some questions to assist you with your check in.
- How am I feeling?
- What do I need?
- What am I grateful for?
- What have I learned recently?
- Are there things and/or people I need to cut out of my life?
- What’s one thing I can do for myself today?
- What do I need right now to set up my week?
Take care.
