I Wonder – Poetry

I wonder if you ever really saw a future with me

Or if what you were feeding me was just to keep me alive until you were set free

Free.

I should have set myself fee

Unchained myself from the hope I was dragging around

That’s what kept me around

You gave me every reason to leave

Yet I still believed in the dream; you and me

I wonder.. wonder if you knew that you were slowly killing me

My mind told me to get out, to leave

My heart, with it’s last few pumps, told me to set it free

Free.

I wonder if I’ll ever be free, if I’ll ever unchain myself from this misery
