Writing 101, Day 4- The Woman In The Woods (Poetry)

As she stood there she imagined another life.. where there would be no suffering.
There would be no man putting his hands on her, no children to disturb her sleep, no illness destroying her mental state. She felt awful for picturing a life without her kids but she was tired.

As she stood there.. a sudden gust of wind rushed past her nearly knocking her frail body down. Looking ahead it seemed as though mother nature had created a pathway to freedom.

 

“RUN FAR, RUN FAST, AND DO NOT EVER LOOK BACK!”

 

Those were the voices in her head.
As she stood there tears fell from her big brown eyes and with a sigh she said goodbye to whatever was waiting on the other side.
